Here's 6 ways Pets Can Improve Your Health

6 Ways Pets Can Improve Your Health according to WebMD Have you ever noticed that you feel better when you're around your pet? It's true. Spending quality time with a dog, cat or other animal can have a positive impact on your mood and your health. Pets can be calming stress-fighters.  "We found that pet owners, on average, were better off than non-owners, especially when they have a higher-quality relationship with their pets," says pet researcher Allen R. McConnell, PhD. He's a professor of psychology at Miami University. "What [makes] a meaningful relationship varies from person to person.”For some active people, that includes playing ball or Frisbee in the park. For others who can’t get outside, just petting your dog can help...

Kona Benellie partners with the Humane State Program, an impactful initiative of the Humane Society of the United States

Once again, a big thank you to our Kona Benellie customers for helping make a difference in the lives of homeless animals. As you know, with each Throwbee or Kona Pet Blanket you buy, we at Kona Benellie give a shelter dog a blanket. We are pleased to announce our new relationship with the nation's largest animal protection organization, the Humane Society of the United States. Yesterday we shipped 2,000 of our shelter blankets to the pups of Oklahoma as part of HSUS's special initiative called the Humane State Program - a program that brings shelters, rescues and law enforcement communities together to educate, equip, and empower them with the proper knowledge, tools and supplies to take immediate action related to the safety of homeless, neglected, or abused animals. Over 400 Dogs Rescued and Comforted

Two weeks ago, my daughter, her friend and I went on a mission to Georgia to help one of Kona Benellie's giving partners Animal Aid USA bring over 400 rescued dogs back up north for a better life. Animal Aid USA has a home base facility in Georgia, a safe haven that rescues dogs in high risk situations - such as high-kill shelters, horrific conditions of neglectful cruel dog owners, and/or abandonment on the side of the road. Animal Aid USA makes monthly trips to Georgia to help relocate the animals they've nurtured and brought back to good health who are now ready to start a new life. My daughter, her friend, and I worked side-by-side with Animal Aid USA's co-founders Karen Lasasso and Prince Lorenzo Borghese along with Georgina Bloomberg,...

People believe that all we care about is ourselves and our phones. But that's not actually the case - most of the time. A 12-year-old boy named Ivan showed everyone that there’s more to us kids than what people think. Ivan recently won Kona Benellie's's free throwbee contest. From this win, he would be able to get a brand new throwbee of any color that he desired. Ivan loves throwbees and has one that was ruined by pen ink a little while back. So this win of his means that he can have a new throwbee to replace his old...

About The "Shelter Blanket" We Give

What is this donated blanket that Kona Benellie gives to shelter dogs? Our commitment is that With each Throwbee or Kona Pet Blanket you buy, we give a shelter dog a blanket. But what does that mean? What is this donated blanket that's given to shelter dogs? Is it a throwbee? Is it a Kona Pet Blanket? Nope. It's a "Shelter Blanket". The "Shelter Blanket", as we refer to it, is different from the "THROWBEE" (for people) and "KONA PET BLANKET" (for pets) that you purchase. The "Shelter Blanket" that we donate is specifically designed by our team to serve the needs of shelter animals and animal organizations.  The "Shelter Blanket" is: A brand new colorful fleece blanket that brings much needed comfort and warmth to shelter animals A durable fleece...
